Unbound Radiance

This work explores the act of unfolding into my own presence, of allowing myself to exist comfortably in the skin I was given. For so long, I measured myself against an impossible standard — smooth, flawless skin with no blemishes, no texture, no marks of real life. That standard left no space for individuality, for the complexity that makes each body its own.
The layered, coiling forms in this piece mirror the surfaces of skin — textured, uneven, shifting with light and color. The folds refuse to flatten themselves into something uniform. Instead, they bloom outward, spilling into space, unapologetic in their variation. The bright greens, blues, and yellows pulse with energy, echoing the vibrancy that comes from self-acceptance and confidence.
This piece is about radiance that comes not from perfection, but from authenticity. By letting go of comparison, I allow myself to flourish — not in the shadow of someone else’s standard, but in the light of my own. It is a declaration that my skin, in all its textures and colors, is not something to hide, but something to celebrate.
Here, imperfection is not a flaw, but a bloom.
