Petals Where Scars Once Were

When I was younger, eczema left my skin covered in scars, and I often hid behind hoodies and layers of clothing to conceal what I saw as flaws. Over time, as I began to heal—both physically and emotionally—I learned that perfection was never the goal. My skin still carries its marks, but they no longer define me.
The embroidered petals in this piece symbolize the hidden beauty that exists beneath the surface. Each stitched layer adds a different texture and depth, reflecting how beauty is not confined to smoothness or clarity, but rather found in the resilience and growth that emerge through healing.
